Don't get me wrong. I love baseball. Especially when my boys are playing. But, I seem to remember that we started baseball during the cold weather and here we are, cold weather again and we are still playing baseball.
My 12 year old is on a fall ball team. He loves baseball. I love the interaction he gets with other boys, the team work, being responsible to other adults and especially the energy he uses up on the field. This is the same team that went to the state playoffs in July. Here they are (and all their parents) playing some more.
I thought baseball was a spring/summer thing. It's not just us. The Astros are still playing. I don't keep up with the professionals (except what my boys tell me), but I do know that there is baseball still being played amongst the “big guys”. What really seems odd to me, is that when I dropped my son off a little while ago, there were little football players running all around the fields next door. Am I wrong to think that baseball should end before football begins? :)
Well, I'm off to watch his ball games. Yes, it is a double header. Not just one game but 2. I know what your thinking. He'll be grown before I know it. Enjoy it while it lasts. And you're right. Play Ball!!
Endoftheroad
Ours is basketball :)…..I am frazzled by the time the season is over!…. I remember when the boys were much younger… we had 4 boys on 4 different teams….I miss it :)
